Anambra governor, Obiano reassures of support to security agencies

Governor Willie Obiano has called on the citizenry to always support security personnel to encourage them to be more committed to the job of securing life and property.
Governor Obiano made the call in Awka, during a state function to honour and support both serving and retired members of the Armed Forces, who devoted their active years to the service of their Nation.
The Governor, who spoke through his Deputy, Dr. Nkem Okeke reminded the people that the security agents make lots of sacrifices to ensure safety for all, hence the need to support them when necessary.
He commended serving and retired security agents in the state for all their efforts in safeguarding the State, and assured continued support for them.
Meanwhile, Anambra State government has also re-assured of continuous support to the Nigerian Legion.
Governor Willie Obiano gave the assurance during the official launch of an emblem at the Government House Awka to mark the commencement of the 2021 armed forces Remembrance Day celebration.
Governor Obiano who was represented by his Deputy Dr. Nkem Okeke reminded the people that security agents make a lot of sacrifices to ensure safety of the citizenry and stressed the need for the people to support them when and where necessary.
He commended both serving and retired security agents in the State for all their effort in safeguarding life and property of the people and charged the citizenry to always support security agents to encourage them to be more dedicated to duty.
In a remark, the State Chairman of the Nigerian Legion, Mr. Benson Agbogu while appreciating the Obiano administration for all its assistance to the State chapter of the Nigerian Legion, pointed out that they are still faced with poor budgetary allocation, lack of operational vehicles, lack of befitting office accommodation, and jobs, appealing to the government to look into the challenges in view of addressing them.
The Armed Forces Remembrance day is set aside by the government to honour and support both serving and retired members of the Armed Forces who devoted their active working years to the service of their fatherland, and to raise fund for the upkeep of the Widows of the fallen Heroes and their dependants.
