The Governor of Anambra State Dr. Willie Obiano rejoice with Nnamdi Azikiwe University female student who was diagnosed of Lassa fever about a month ago has recovered.
Our correspondent recalled that the student was moved to a Lassa fever centre in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State by the Anambra State Emergency Response Team after the ailment was confirmed at the Chukwukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital.
But on Sunday, the State Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Mr. C-Don Adinuba said the victim had recovered and had been discharged.
He said the recovery of the student, had demonstrated readiness and preparedness of the Willie Obiano administration to handle such situations.
Mr. Adinuba maintained that the Obiano government was ready to battle any such emergency, including the Coronavirus, should it occur in the state.
The Commissioner enjoined the people of the State to have confidence in the Obiano administration, adding that the Governor had done everything to ensure that Anambra was the safest state in the country.
Commissioner Adinuba said the State government had taken the Coronavirus awareness campaign to Churches, markets, schools and various communities in the state.
