Anambra Governor Soludo, gives Catholic schools N918m, Anglican N550m, others N56m

The Governor of Anambra State, Prof Chukwuma Soludo has made a historic move by allocating N1.524billion to support Grant-in-Aid to mission public schools within the state.

Prof Soludo’s allocation is expected to have a profound impact on the education sector, particularly for mission schools. The funds have been distributed as follows:

Anambra Catholic Mission Public Schools: A staggering sum of N918miilion was earmarked for this sector, benefiting a total of 459 schools which have been returned to their administration.

Anambra Anglican Mission Public Schools: An allocation of N550million was dedicated to the Anglican mission schools, comprising 275 schools that have been returned to their control.

Anambra Salvation Army Schools: Governor Soludo also extended support to the Anambra Salvation Army Schools, allocating N16million for the benefit of eight returned schools under their management.

Pentecostal Schools: In a display of ecumenism, Governor Soludo allocated N40million to Pentecostal schools within the State, which account for a total of 20 schools.

This extraordinary commitment to education is expected to significantly improve the quality of education and infrastructure in these mission schools, ultimately benefiting the students and communities they serve.

The Governor’s action has been met with praise from various quarters, and it marks a promising step forward for the education sector in Anambra State. 

The allocation of such a substantial amount underscores the government’s dedication to enhancing educational opportunities for all, regardless of religious affiliation.
