Anambra Governor Soludo promises more transformative projects in second term

The Godwin Achebe Stadium in Onitsha South Local Government Area of Anambra State was filled with excitement as supporters gathered to endorse Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo’s re-election bid.
Stakeholders, women groups, teachers, and residents cheered as they celebrated the Governor’s achievements and pledged their continued support.
Addressing the crowd, Governor Soludo reaffirmed his commitment to advancing development across the State, noting that his vision for Anambra is far from complete.
“We have achieved much in our first term, but we are not yet halfway through our plans for Ndi Anambra,” he said. “If given another mandate, we will deliver even more world-class projects that will transform every part of our State.”
The Governor highlighted key infrastructural projects completed in the area, including the construction of 16 major roads such as Niger Road, Iweka Road, Ziks Avenue, and Modebe Avenue. He also mentioned the installation of Anambra’s largest water fountain at Ochanja Roundabout and the rehabilitation of other vital streets including Creek Road, Mbonu Ojike Street, and Miss Elems Street.
Governor Soludo emphasized that his administration is focused on policies that uplift the poor, in line with the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) slogan, “Be your brother’s keeper.”
He announced that: Free education remains available for children from poor families. Schools are prohibited from compelling students to purchase new textbooks yearly.
Unnecessary levies such as graduation and Christmas party fees have been banned. Petty traders, vulcanizers, and wheelbarrow pushers are exempted from taxation and free antenatal and delivery services are available in public health facilities.
The Governor urged residents to report anyone extorting taxes from the poor, reiterating that his administration has not authorized such collections.
Prof. Soludo also called on citizens to report criminal elements, fake native doctors, and idle individuals who contribute to insecurity.
“We celebrate hard work in Anambra. If you have no job, enroll in our youth skill acquisition program you will be trained and empowered,” he stated.
He assured the people that by the end of his second term, Anambra would be transformed beyond recognition.
In his welcome remarks, the Mayor of Onitsha South Local Government Area, Hon. Emeka Orji, described Soludo’s re-election as a collective mission, promising overwhelming support from the area.
Leaders of various groups who attended the rally commended the Governor’s developmental strides and vowed to deliver massive votes for him in the upcoming November 8 election.
