The Senior Special Adviser on Security to Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State, Mr. Chinenye Ihenko has threatened to sue the Java ME platform, Opera Mini over false publication with his picture.
The mobile web browser had falsely used Mr. Ihenko’s picture for a dead notorious Anambra armed robber, Okwudili Ndiwe, (a.k.a. ‘Derico Nwamama).
The Senior Special Adviser, who had fought against notorious criminals to the benefit of Anambra State and Nigeria in general wondered why the mobile web should use his picture falsely to make impact on its publics.
Fuming, while fielding questions from newsmen in Onitsha on Friday, Mr. Ihenko said he had consulted his lawyers for necessary legal action unless his picture is removed forthwith.
“My picture was placed instead of Derico’s, with his criminal life history being made public to the World by Opera Mini. I see no reason for the falsely placing of my picture instead of Derico’s own,” he stated.
It would be recalled that Opera Mini in its write up said, “Like many other armed robbers, Okwudili Ndiwe, who is known as Derico Nwamama, started as a pick pocket before he became a full blown and notorious armed robber.
“He was very notorious in the year 2000 and was said to have robbed and killed hundreds of people which included tens of Police officers that tried to stop him and over 100 innocent civilians.
“Derico was so notorious that when the Police could not catch him, the Governor of Anambra State, where he operated, invited an armed group known as the ‘Bakassi boys’, who are know for using strong charm to catch evil people and behead them.
“Derico was eventually caught on July 3, 2001 by the Bakassi boys and six days later, he was paraded and beheaded at the ‘Ochanja market on July 9, 2001,” it hinted.
In the Opera Mini’s write up, 16 notorious armed robbers were mentioned as having terrorised Nigeria which included, Derico Nwamama, lawrence Anini, Ishola Onyenusi, Sina Rambo, Isiaka Busari, aka-Mighty Joe and Abubakar Shakau.
Others were, Terwase Akwaza, Abiodun Egunjob, aka Godo, Chukwudiemm Onwuamadike-aka Evans, and Hamisu Bala, aka- Wadumi.
