Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, on Saturday, cast his vote at Polling Unit 002, Ofiyi Square, Isuofia Ward, in Aguata Local Government Area, at about 1:15 p.m., amid cheers from residents and voters.

The Governor arrived at the polling centre with his wife, Nonye, and their children.

After voting, Soludo described the electoral process as seamless, orderly, and peaceful. He expressed satisfaction with the large voter turnout and the calm conduct of both voters and electoral officers.

“From what I have seen here, and from the calls I’ve received since morning, everything appears to be going smoothly,” he said. “Except for reports from Nnewi South Local Government Area, where a particular candidate desperate to win is allegedly offering fifteen thousand naira to each voter.”

He also mentioned reports of BVAS (Bimodal Voter Accreditation System) malfunctioning in Olumbanasa, Anambra West Local Government Area, but maintained that there was no cause for alarm.

“On the basis of one man, one vote, we are confident of achieving a landslide victory. There’s no doubt about it,” Soludo added.

The Governor further alleged that a political party had bribed some electoral officers and given them pre-written result sheets to alter during collation. However, he expressed confidence that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) would uphold the integrity of the election.
