Anambra govt distributes over 1600 branded footballs, volleyballs, basketballs to primary, secondary schools

Anambra State government has distributed one- thousand- six- hundred –and- five size four branded footballs, volleyballs and basket ball’s to Primary and Secondary schools in the State.
The symbolic presentation which was performed by the State government through the Sports Development Commission, led by its Chairman, Mr. Tony Oli, was presented to the management of the Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board, ASUBEB and Post-Primary Schools Service Commission, PPSSC in Awka.
Mr. Oli said that the gesture was part of Governor Willie Obiano led administration’s efforts towards promoting sporting activities across the State.
The Sports Chairman who said that the footballs are to enable schools train, ahead of the 2020 academicals coming up in two weeks time, stressed that the efforts of the Commission had started yielding positive results.
He added that it has been designed that each school will get at least, one football for their training.
Chairman of ASUBEB, Mr. Patrick Ugbaja and his PPSSC counterpart, Mrs. Ifeoma Okaro applauded the Governor and the Commission for their efforts at improving sports in the State, promising to ensure that the footballs get to the intended schools.
Responding, one of the students, Mr. Favour Moses from Udoka Primary School, Awka said that the gesture help promote sporting activities in the State, asking God to bless them.
