By Sunny A. David, Onitsha
The Anambra State government has assured the people of Mmiata and Nzam communities in Anambra West Local Government Area, that the bridge at the Mmiata-Nzam Road will be completed within two months.
Governor Willie Obiano gave the assurance when he visited the project site.
According to the governor, his administration was determined to connect Nzam to Olu Mba Nasa, whose people go to Delta State to sell their produce due to lack of access road.
The Governor said that the road has been raised significantly, to ensure that vehicles ply the road even during flood, calling on the people of the area to support APGA candidates in the forthcoming elections to sustain the tempo of development in the State.
The Governor, accompanied by his wife, Dr. (Mrs.) Ebelechukwu also inspected the level of work at the eleven point seven kilometer access Road and one hundred meters Bridge from Umueje Oil Well, Aguleri Otu, where he explained that he has mobilized the contractor.
He noted that when completed, the road will facilitate access to the agrarian communities in the area and give people easy access to their communities instead of going through Enugu State.
