Prince Dr. Nicholas Ukachukwu, the APC gubernatorial candidate for the November 8th election, has pledged a sweeping reform of Anambra State’s education system, prioritizing funding, innovation, and teacher welfare.
He made the commitment during a homecoming visit to his alma mater, Dennis Memorial Grammar School (DMGS), Onitsha, where he received the official endorsement of the DMGS Old Boys Association.
Ukachukwu emphasized education as the cornerstone of sustainable development, promising investment in modern infrastructure, teacher retraining and improved compensation, and equitable access to quality education for all children.
He specifically addressed the issue of low teacher salaries, vowing to ensure fair compensation for educators in both public and private schools across the State.
Further reforms will focus on bridging the gap between education and industry, fostering technological advancements in schools, and restoring the dignity of the teaching profession.
The DMGS Old Boys Association voiced their full support for Ukachukwu’s candidacy, praising him as embodying the school’s values of discipline, service, and excellence.
They expressed confidence that his governorship would usher in a new era for Anambra State, particularly in the realm of education.
The event, which included interactions with students and school officials, highlighted Ukachukwu’s strong ties to his community and his values-driven leadership approach.
With growing grassroots support and endorsements, Ukachukwu is positioning himself as a prominent contender in the gubernatorial race.
