The Anambra State President of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Chief Damian Okeke-Ogene has commended Ndi Anambra for their united response to the challenges of COVID-19.
Speaking to newsmen in Awka, Chief Okeke-Ogene expressed satisfaction that people of the State have continued to demonstrate love, unity and spirit of brotherliness for which Ndigbo are known irrespective of political, religious and social differences.
The Ohaneze President noted that in addition to economic stimulus packages distributed by Governor Obiano’s administration, privileged members of various communities distributed food items and other materials including money
to vulnerable members of the society.
He urged Ndigbo to use this trying period to once again demonstrate their enterprising endowment by embarking on farming activities and local production of materials, products and equipment needed to drive the State and Nationals economies to mitigate the adverse effects and economic loss from the devastations of COVID-19.
Chief Okeke-Ogene reminded the people that relaxation of COVID-19 restrictions in the State is a call for them to be more safety conscious by observing social
distancing, wearing of face masks always, sustaining regular handwashing and other safety measures.
He urged security agencies to ensure strict enforce of boundary closure as ordered by the state government while commercial drivers should operate within lay down guidelines.
