Anambra Police Command arrest robbery suspects, child sellers

Anambra State Police Command has arrested three robbery suspects and three child sellers.
In a release signed by the State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Haruna Mohammed for the state Police Commissioner, Mr. Mustapha Danduara, said following intelligence report, Police detectives attached to Area Command Ihiala arrested one Chinonso Anyanwu, aged 32 and Oluebube Anyanwu, aged 20 of lbiasiegbe village, Imo State who conspired and sold their three day old biological son for N300, 000 to one Sandra Odimege of Umuezike, Amorka in Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State.

The release stated that the three suspects have been arrested and the baby recovered in good condition while the case is under investigation after which suspects would be charged to Court for prosecution.
In another development, the release stated that one Abuchi Mba aged, 23 of Ikenga Ogidi was arrested for luring Mr. Emerole Ikechukwu of Irete village Owerri Imo State to Ogidi and robbed him on gunpoint of N7, 000, his ATM card where another N10, 000 was withdrawn and other valuables.
Following the report by the victim that a female Facebook friend lured him into the state and on arrival, directed a bike man who picked and took him to the bush where he was robbed, Police detectives attached to Ogidi Division traced and arrested Abuchi Mba and recovered the victim’s bag containing his clothes from him.
It explained that consequently, discreet investigation also led to the arrest of the lady one Ogochukwu Onourah aged twenty-seven years of Ilongodo Ogidi in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State.
According to the release, the two suspects have confessed and effort is ongoing to apprehend other fleeing accomplices in order to bring them to Justice.
The statement further disclosed that Police Patrol Team attached to the Command Federal Highway Patrol arrested at Upper Iweka Onitsha one John Nwankwo aged 27 from Okigwe in Imo State who was among the syndicates who specialized in snatching handbags, phones and other valuables from their victims especially women at Upper Iweka and Headbridge in Onitsha.
It explained that three expensive handsets of different brands were recovered from him though his case is under investigation after which he would be charged to Court for prosecution.
