Anambra Police nab teen armed robbery suspects, rapists at Oba

Members of Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS), Anambra State Police Command have arrested an 8-year-old man, one Chinedu Umerah, 16-year-old Uboh Oluebube, 17-year-old Obute Chinwendu and 18-year-old Chukwuma Amazu for engaging in armed robbery.
The suspects and two others now at large went to a school in Oba in Idemili South Local Government Area, drugged and abducted a 14-year-old girl, took her to a building in the area, robbed, threatened her with two double barrel guns before having a carnal knowledge of her for two consecutive days.
A release signed by the Police Public Relations Officer Mr. Haruna Mohammed (SP) says that the suspects also confessed to be members of Junior Vikings, adding that two arms have been recovered in their possession as exhibit.
According to Mr. Haruna, the victim was taken to a hospital for medical attention, pointing out that the case is under investigation after which the suspects will be charged to court.
Also at Oba, the Special Anti robbery squad arrested one Victor Okafor aged 36 years who later confessed to be a member of an armed robbery gang that specializes in dispossessing innocent citizens of their tricycles within Oba and environs.
According to the PPRO, one unregistered tricycle suspected to have been stolen was recovered from the suspect.
He also said that the case is under investigation as efforts are in top gear to apprehend his accomplices and bring them to justice.
