Anambra State government says it will increase its support to the State Fire Service for efficient service delivery.
The Deputy Governor, Dr. Nkem Okeke gave the assurance when the leadership of the State Fire Service paid him a courtesy call at the Government House, Awka.
The Deputy Governor said that the present government is already looking into their activities, starting from a review of their hazard allowance which has already received the Governor’s approval, stressing that it is one of the government’s efforts at revamping the State fire Service.
Dr. Okeke who commended fire fighters in the State for their resilience, asked them to explore other areas that will help them be at their best.
Earlier, the State Chief Fire Officer Mr. Martin Agbili who appreciated the State government for its assistance enumerated some of their challenges.
