A group known as the Northern New Breed for United Nigeria has call on the youths especially those from the Northern Nigeria to support the aspiration of Umaru Tanko Al-Makura as the next national Chairman of the All Progressives Congress.(APC).
Speaking during media interview in Abuja at the weekend, the National Coordinator of the group, Comrade Bashir Mohammed Runah explained that among all those aspiring for the office of the Chairman, only Senator Al-Makura has the pedigree and reputation to deliver.
He reminds all members of APC of the sterling leadership records of Umaru Tanko Almakura as the then Plateau State youth leader of the then NPN and Secretary of NRC Nasarawa State.
Also lending voice to the position of Cmr Bashir Mohammed Rumah, the National coordinator of the group who is also contesting for the office of National Youth Leader of APC, is Cmr Fred O Orinya, the President of Northern New Breed.
He said during his time as the governor of Nasarawa state, Al-Makura had only four out of 24 members from his party adding that even under such political atmosphere he was able to wave the storm successfully.
According to him, the party should not waste time on the choice of who chairs the party come February 2022 since Almakura has indicated interest considering his unmatched achievements during his time as governor of Nasarawa State especially in administration of the State with just 4 out of 24 House members from his party APC, his management of State resources and infrastructural development (roads and Schools)
However, the group had earlier described the former Nasarawa governor as a billionaire arising from his business before venturing into politics.
Therefore, the combination of His excellency Umaru Tanko Almakura and Cmr Bashir will not only restore the confidence of Nigerians on the Party but on Nigeria as a nation and the Government that will come thereon.
He said the formation of Northern New Breed in all the nineteen States of northern Nigeria owe much to the efforts of Cmr Bashir Mohammad Rumah the Katsina born youth leader, Usman Aliyu Moddibo the Adamawa born leader amongst others.
The group further reiterated their readiness to work tirelessly for Al-Makura based on his untarnished records of image and anticident.
