Delegates from the twelve wards of Jema’a Local Government Area under the All Progressives Congress (APC) confirmed Hon. Peter Tanko Dogara as the party’s official chairmanship candidate for the upcoming local government elections.
The confirmation took place during a congress held at the APC secretariat in Kafanchan, where Mr. Tanko was unanimously chosen through a voice vote. He was presented as the consensus candidate from Gwong Zone, which had been allotted the chairmanship ticket by the party.
The congress was supervised by SEICOM officials and other state party representatives, led by Alhaji Rilwanu Abdullahi.
Abdullahi, a former chairman of Kaduna North Local Government, praised the delegates for their peaceful conduct during the exercise. He expressed confidence that the party’s smooth selection process is a strong indicator of success in the upcoming elections on October 19th.
Abdullahi advised the candidate to be inclusive in his campaign efforts to ensure widespread support and success.
In his response, Mr. Peter Tanko Dogara, the newly confirmed APC chairmanship candidate, expressed his gratitude to the party for the trust placed in him. He promised not to disappoint and committed to implementing dynamic, people-centered projects if elected. He also called on the electorate in Jema’a to support his vision of initiating and executing developmental projects for the area.
Earlier, the APC Chairman of Jema’a Local Government Area, Alhaji Ibrahim Koli, described Peter Tanko as a grassroots leader whose candidacy promises overwhelming victory for the party. He urged those who were not selected during the process to remain committed to the party and work together with its candidate throughout the campaign and beyond.
