APC Jema’a council in Kaduna distances self from chairmanship pre-primary elections

Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress in Gwong Zone (Kagoma), Jema’a Local Government Area in Kaduna State, have distanced themselves from what they call a kangaroo arrangement in the name of conducting pre primaries for the three Chairmanship Aspirants seeking the party’s ticket from Gwong Zone.

The Stakeholders Chairman, Dr. Paul Dogo in a statement Monday, said the purported Pre Primaries held at the weekend will not stand because their is no where in the APC constitution that provides for Pre Primaries for candidates.

Dr. Dogo explained that instead, the APC Constitution only provided for consensus so as to avoid crisis that might arise from aspirants.

He said the stakeholders had earlier met with the three aspirants from the zone with the aim of picking a consensus candidate within them but to no avail hence, their resolve to allow them to go ahead and purchase the nomination form for fairness and equity.

The Stakeholders however, cautioned the party exco in the zone and any other interest group in Gwong Zone, to threat with care so as not to jeopardize the chances of the zone with their decision on Saturday.

It would be recalled that the Kaduna State Independent Electoral Commission, (KADSIECOM) announced June 16th, 2021 as date for the conduct of local government elections in the state.
