In a meeting that bridged the worlds of politics, sports, and business, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda Goshwe, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), welcomed legendary Nigerian footballer Nwankwo Kanu to his residence in Abuja.
The visit featured engaging discussions on how to harmonize and enhance the interplay between these three key facets of society politics, sports, and business for greater national benefit.
This was contained in the official X handle of APC.
Professor Yilwatda emphasized the value of understanding these domains deeply, noting that “politics, sports, and business can be very interesting if understood.”
The conversation explored ways to achieve better balance and synergy among them, drawing on Kanu’s extensive experience as a former Super Eagles captain, UEFA Champions League winner, Premier League star with Arsenal, and current influential figure in Nigerian sports administration and philanthropy through his Kanu Heart Foundation.

Kanu, widely regarded as one of Nigeria’s greatest football exports and affectionately known as “Papilo,” has long transcended the pitch, engaging in business ventures and community development initiatives.
This cordial encounter underscores the growing intersections between Nigeria’s political leadership and iconic sports figures, fostering dialogue on holistic national development.
