Al-Makura Campaign Organisation ( ACO ) which is the flagship of Senator Umaru Tanko Al-Makura’s Campaign Team is thanking the presidency for debunking the false news by some select media of those vying for the position of All Progressives Congress, (APC) that the President has endorsed one of them Is timely for the internal democracy of this great party.

ACO is thankful to President Muhammadu Buhari and his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina for debunking the cooked story as a lie against the person and office of the President, that an alleged latecomer to the All Progressives Congress, (APC) has been endorsed by the president.

Mr. Femi Adeshina said that: “If someone has been chosen by president as the APC chair, it would have been announced “I will tell you that the President has not adopted any candidate for a National Chairmanship position or any other position in APC National Working Committee (NWC).

“When he does that, I believe everybody would know and other candidates would accept the President choice.

“President Muhammadu Buhari is yet to adopt a consensus candidate for the National Chairmanship of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Convention, slated for March 26,” said Femi Adeshina.

That is according to Adesina, “Just last week, reports were rife that the President has adopted a former Governor of Nasarawa State, Senator Abdullahi Adamu as the consensus candidate of the party.”

But according to Adesina, the President would not adopt a candidate and would not make it public by himself.

He said: “If someone has been chosen by president as the APC chair, it would have been announced “I will tell you that the President has not adopted any candidate for a National Chairmanship position or any other position in APC National Working Committee (NWC).

“When he does that, I believe everybody would know and other candidates would accept the President choice.”

The mainstream media reported that, the party chieftain who prefers anonimity said that the rumour that the President had adopted a candidate was not true as the contest was still open. The position of National Chairmanship has been zoned to North Central.

He said: “The President is democratic and would not agree with any candidate without first agreeing with governors. “As you are aware, the governors in the zone are consulting and would make their findings to the President.

“No any outsider would decide for the zone who would be a consensus candidate in the zone. But be rest assured that the candidate that would be considered would be acceptable to all party members.”

President Buhari thanked the people of Nasarawa State for a rousing welcome, expressing delight that the North-Central State was wearing a new look since his last visit in 2019.

He congratulated the immediate past Governor and Senator representing Nasarawa South Senatorial District, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura and the incumbent, Governor Abdullahi Sule for the laudable initiatives and accomplishments in the State.

With the timely statement by the President and by extension the media handler of the President, ACO is confident that internal democracy that had bedevilled the PDP, would not be allowed to manifest in the APC.
