APC remains strong despite SDP’s rising influence in Kaduna — Rt. Hon. Audu

By Usman Ahmad, Kafanchan

The Councillor on Political Affairs to Governor of Kaduna State, Rt. Hon. Ado Dogo Audu, has reaffirmed the resilience and stability of the All Progressives Congress (APC) amidst perceived political threats following the emergence of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Kaduna State, particularly in Zone 3.

Speaking during a grassroots stakeholders meeting of like-minded APC leaders held over the weekend in Sabon Gari Chori, Jaba Local Government Area, Hon. Audu expressed confidence in the strength and popularity of the APC across the state.

He attributed the party’s enduring appeal to its people-centered structure at both the national and state levels, noting that this has spurred a wave of defections from other parties into the APC.

Highlighting the inclusive governance approach of the Kaduna State Government, Ado Dogo Audu revealed that his appointment as Councillor on Political Affairs followed the resignation of the former political adviser from Zone 3, who stepped down to contest the chairmanship seat of Kachia LGA.

Also addressing the gathering, Dr. Abdulmalik Durunguwa stressed the importance of continuous grassroots engagement to reinforce the party’s presence. He encouraged members to act collectively to make a visible impact in their communities.

In his remarks, Prof. Dogara Matoh, National Secretary of the Renewed Hope Consolidation Mandate, urged unity among members while warning against divisive politics rooted in religion, ethnicity, or regional sentiments, especially as the 2027 elections approach.

APC Chieftain, Engineer Joseph Chiroma, advised members to operate within party structures to maintain cohesion. He also appreciated Elder Anthony Hassan for his instrumental role in establishing the foundation for the Federal University of Applied Sciences in Kachia, describing it as a major win for grassroots development.

Another APC stalwart, Mr. Rijo Shekari emphasized the vital role of local government officials and appointees in relaying government activities to the grassroots, urging them to maintain regular communication with constituents.

Concluding the event, Prof. Yusuf Gandu submitted a proposal for a “Thank You Mega Rally” in appreciation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He disclosed that arrangements are underway to mobilize participation from all 13 local government areas and their respective wards across the state.
