APC stakeholders pass vote of confidence on Kwara Governor, AbdulRazaq

Chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State have passed a vote of confidence in Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq with a declaration that his administration has instilled paradigm shift in governance.

They were of the view that the incumbent APC-led government in the state is a clear departure from the past in the area of physical infrastructure and other benchmarks.

Speaking with Journalists in Ilorin on the sidelines of the special prayer organized in honour of the Governor by AbdulRazaq Support Group, the party chieftains said the state chief executive deserved to be supported with prayers.

The Chairman, state House of Assembly Committee on Lands, Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Omotayo Awodiji Felix, who spoke on the sidelines of the event, noted that Governor AbdulRazaq requires prayers, goodwill and encouragement to succeed in office.

“I believe the prayer session is timely, and this goes to show that we believe in the efficacy of prayers. Our Governor needs prayers, goodwill and encouragement to be successful, because of the enormity of responsibility on his shoulders”, Awodiji said.

A former Vice Chairman of Ilorin West Local Government Area, Hon. Salihu Mohammed, deserved to be prayed for due to his fantastic performance in the last two years in office.

He said, “When something is good, you need prayers and vice versa. The fact that the Governor is performing well, he deserves prayers. That is why we are here. This shows that we need prayers to support the government of the day under the able leadership of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, who we believe he is making progess as far as Kwara State is concerned.

“So, he deserves prayers, and that is why we are here. In the last two years, the Governor is doing fantastically well in all sectors”.

Similarly, a former Chairman of Ilorin West Local Government Area, Mrs Omodara Aromoke Aminat, said the handwriting of the Governor has been felt across the state and prayed for divine guidance for his administration.

A chieftain of the APC, Mr Musbau Esinrogunjo, who also spoke at the event, explained that though the Governor has not declared his intention to seek re-election, he expressed his desire to support him.

“We love the Governor because he is performing well. And in as much as the Governor is performing, it is our own duty to make sure we show solidarity to him all the time. I think what we are doing here is just a solidarity support for him.

“I will support the Governor if he decides to throw his hat into the ring again, because we are enjoying dividends of democracy in Kwara State”, the party chieftain said.

Other speakers including the lawmaker representing Owode/Onire Constituency in the state House of Assembly, Hon. Ambali Olatunji Ibrahim and the Chairman, Transitional Implementation Committee (TIC) of Ilorin South Local Government Area, Mr Sulu-Gambari Zubair, maintained that the state has not witnessed the type of development that the present administration has brought to bear.

At the prayer session, which also coincided with the formal unveiling of AbdulRazaq Support Group, were the Deputy Speaker, state House of Assembly, Hon. Raphael Olanrewaju Adetiba; House Leader, Hon. Abubakar Mogaji Olawoyin, some lawmakers, traditional chiefs and the Governor’s younger Baba AbdulRazaq among others.
