Apex News Exclusive COVID-19 ambassador, Nana Blessing Aneru has added her voice to the sad cases of rape in Nigeria and called tough punishments for perpetrators.
Speaking exclusively to Apex News Exclusive in Abuja Monday, she described rape as a crime that deserved very harsh laws against suspects.
Nana recalled with sadness the recent rape and murder of a 22-year-old Uwaila Omozuwa of the University of Benin, 18-year-old Barakat Bello of the Federal College of Animal and Production Technology, Ibadan, who was stabbed to death for her refusal to be raped and case of a 4-year-old girl in Cross River State.
In Warri, Delta State, the police have apprehended a cleric over an alleged rape of a 19-year-old girl. The matter confirmed by Warri Area Commander of the Police Force, Mohammed Garba.
According to Nana, as an advocate of a better society, she strongly believe that with harsh laws and punishments, ills against girls will be drastically reduced.
