The Chairman of the Southern Kaduna Christian Leaders Association (SKCLA), Apostle Dr. Emmanuel Nuhu Kure, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to Muslims across Nigeria on the successful completion of the Ramadan fast.
In a goodwill message released Monday, he commended the dedication of Muslims during this sacred period of devotion, sacrifice, and prayer, wishing them peace, wisdom, and prosperity.
The religious leader emphasized that Nigeria’s foundation is built on unity in diversity, urging citizens to continue fostering mutual respect, understanding, and justice for all.
However, he expressed concerns over recent political developments, particularly in some northern states, where he believes religion is increasingly being exploited for sectional interests.
Apostle Kure criticized the growing tendency among some politicians to use religion as a tool for consolidating power in the North, warning that this trend, if unchecked, could destabilize the fragile peace and trust that have been built over time.
“The evolving self-awareness among northern communities should be embraced as an opportunity for unity and equitable governance, rather than a means to deepen religious or ethnic divides,” Apostle Kure stated.
He called for vigilance and collective responsibility among Nigerians to ensure that the nation’s diversity remains a source of strength rather than division.
He urged leaders to commit themselves to serving all citizens, regardless of faith or region, and to prioritize justice, fairness, and inclusivity in governance.
Apostle Kure concluded his message by encouraging all Nigerians to uphold the values of tolerance, coexistence, and nation-building, inspired by the prayers and sacrifices made during the holy month of Ramadan.
“May God guide our leaders to act with wisdom and in the best interest of our great nation,” he prayed.
The goodwill message from Apostle Kure reflects ongoing concerns about the intersection of religion and politics in Nigeria, as well as the need for inclusive leadership to preserve national unity.
