The Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), headquarters and the Central Working Committee of the Argungu Fishing Festival have agreed to a mutual collaboration to make the festival a huge success.
The agreement forms part of the takeaways of a joint meeting which took place at the headquarters of the NTA in Abuja Tuesday.
This was contained in a statement by Ahmad Hussaini Aliyu, media aide to the Commissioner of Information and Culture, Kebbi State.
The Director General of the NTA, Abdulhamid Salisu Dambos and the Director General of the AIFF, Alhaji Safiyanu Garba Bena led members of their respective teams where the scope of collaboration was discussed and agreements reached.
The NTA DG extolled the importance of the Festival on the nation’s cultural and tourism calendar. He gave the assurances that the NTA will do its utmost to make the event as successful as it possible.
He recalled that the NTA had a history of active participation and cooperation in the Argungu Fishing Festival for several editions in the past. He assured that the station will redouble efforts to avail the event its human and material resources for a more eventful organization.
In his speech, Alhaji Bena said that the NTA is indispensable in the collective desire to host the best Festival ever. He commended the sense of national duty of the NTA and its management under the leadership of the current Director General.
He called for a more progressive and forward-looking team up to make the Argungu Fishing and cultural Festival a grand event.
On the DG’s team are the Commissioner of Information and Culture, Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed BK; Commissioner of Commerce and Tourism, Alhaji Usman Abubakar Ladan; Commissioner of Livestock Development and Fisheries, Alhaji Kabiru Usman Alaramma; Commissioner of Special Duties, Alhaji Zayyanu Aliero, Deputy Rector of Waziri Umaru Federal Polytechnic, Birnin Kebbi, Dr Isyaku Abdullahi; S.A. to the Deputy Governor on Media and Public, Ibrahim Argungu and the Secretary of the Main Committee Malam Nasir Hassan.
The Committee continues to interface and interact with relevant stakeholders across the country to synergize for a better festival.
