The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Cross River State has described the recent visit of Governor Ben Ayade and two other governors to a fellow Governor, Nyesom Wike, to lobby as very shameful.

The party believes that the lobbying spree will fail as Wike will not budge.

On Wednesday, Governors Ayade, Ikpeazu of Abia and David Umahi of Ebonyi States, all of the national ruling party, APC, called on Wike, a PDP bigwig, in Port Harcourt

Speaking on Friday, chairman of PDP in Cross River State, Venatius Ikem said that governor of his state, Ayade actually joined the other two so as to use the opportunity to lobby Wike for supports to the Senate.

According to him, “when a sitting governor goes to beg his colleague governor of another state to help him win election in his own senatorial district you know all hope for him is gone , no matter how he disguises it”.

Ikem who hails from same Obudu with Ayade said what the governor is trying to get back to Senate through the back door.

“Unfortunately for him this time we the people of his senatorial district are not leaving even a window open for him to sneak in through.

“We will decimate and humiliate him as a sitting Governor so that he will know the extent of discontent of our people for his dismal performance after 12 years in very high offices,”

The PDP chairman claimed to have predicted that Ayade would beg to have his way back to the Senate.
