Barr. Iloakasia’s murder: Anambra drifting to ‘killing field’ -Ikemba Front

Ikemba Front, the All Progressives Congress (APC) support group in Anambra State has decried the recent killings in the State especially that of a legal practitioner and former President -General of Aguleri community in Anambra East Local Government Area of Anambra State, Mr.Rolex Ifeanyi Iloakasia.
Condemning the killing of the lawyer with his clients along the Ekwulobia road after a court session, the Ikemba Front said:
“It’s unfortunate that brilliant Barrister Iloakasia, who left his home never returned alive and became a victim of an Anambra that has drifted into a killing field”.
In the statement signed by the National Coordinator of Ikemba Front, Sir Arinzechukwu Awogu, the group said: “Whatever the remote or immediate reason for this dastardly premeditated murder is, it boils down to a state fast adrift”.
They said if the: “State had a different security helmsman such scenes” as the one we were witnessing “won’t surface”.
The group lamented: “Human lives that are supposed to be sacrosanct have become so cheap in Anambra State, Citizens and residents of Anambra State have become defenceless antelopes in a Kenyan forest. Even in Kenya Safari, animals are protected from human harm. You cannot have security when you don’t fund security agencies. You cannot have security when you see the Police, the DSS, the Civil Defence, the Navy, the Army in your state as federal establishments that should be funded by federal government alone even when they are working in your state’.
Continuing they said:”You can’t have security when you deliberately refused to fund established security apparatus in the state but chose to create and arm untrained political thugs to do the work of the Police, DSS, Navy and the Army while having the ulterior motive of using them for political gains. You can’t have security when security votes are for personal aggrandizement and family up keep to be stashed away in London and in Congo goldfield. Security cannot be assured under such arrangement”.
The Ikemba Front assured that Prince Dr. Nicholas Ukachukwu would not be this selfish and insensitive if he becomes Governor after November 8 governorship election.
“Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu will commit security votes to funding security apparatus in the state and the result will be everywhere in just three months of being in the saddle for everyone to see” said Ikemba Front.
The group assured that Ukachukwu would not be Mr. know all, “someone who is the only person that knows the value of money, that knows what money can be used for, cannot deploy funds to meet the needs of the people except that which suits his personal interest’.
Ikemba Front said Dr. Ukachukwu is not the type who could not financially motivate security agencies in the state because he is the only person that understands the worth of money, stressing: “November 8, certainly, is the watershed. Prince Dr. Nicholas Ukachukwu is the messiah in waiting for Anambra State”.
They continued: “We mourn very deeply the loss of Barr. Rolex Ifeanyi Iloakasia and many others who have left their homes without returning alive on the account of the insecurity ravaging the state, while wishing a stop to this drift”.
