Baruga’s turbanning as Jarman Wase still resonates two weeks after

By Anthony Maliki, Abuja

Two weeks after the Emir of Wase, (Sarkin Dutse), in Plateau State, His Royal Highness, Alhaji (Dr), Muhammadu Sambo Haruna, formally turbaned Alhaji Abdullahi Ibrahim Baruga as Jarman Wase, the solemn occasion is being talked about.

The Emir of Wase turbaned Baruga as Jarman Wase on Sunday January 5, 2025 at Wase in Plateau State.

The ceremony, though low-keyed to mark the installation pending a proper celebration in the future, was significant in the history of Wase as the youth Baruga is a respected grassroots mobiliser and emerging leader who was the Plateau State governorship candidate of the Boot Party in the 2023 election.

The turbaning was attended by local government chairmen and commissioners across Plateau State or their representatives and other high-profile individuals from all walks of life.

The Emir, through the Kuyambanan Wase, says it was a deserving recognition due to Baruga’s good conduct and urged the Jarman to remain a good ambassador and continue to build on his good deeds by contributing positively to the development of the community.
