Bauchi assembly speaker urges Jama’atul Izalatul, religious groups to help in fighting insecurity

Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Abubakar Y. Suleiman has called on religious organizations in the country to help in fighting insecurity that is bedeviling the people.
He made the call while speaking as Guest of Honour during the 28th Annual National Seminar organized by Jama’atul Izalatul Bid’ah Wa Ikamatis Sunna (JIBWIS) with the theme; Islamic Perspectives to the Challenges of World Peace and Development which took place in Jos, Plateau State.
The Speaker stressed the need for all and sundry to put hands on deck toward fighting against insecurity, saying religious or faith-based organisations, Nongovernmental Organizations (NGOs) Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) community and public opinion leaders, spirited individuals etc, all have a greater role to play in ensuring peace and development in Nigeria and the world at large.
According to him, government alone should not be left alone on issues of security and development because everybody has a role to play.
He commended JIBWIS for the choice of the topic as this is the best time to discuss issues of peace and insecurityand for the role it is playing in ensuring peace in Nigeria and Africa.
In his remarks, the National Chairman of the Council of Ulama of the Organization Sheikh Muhammad Sani Yahaya Jingir commended the Speaker for not only honouring their invitation but also contributing to the discussions on the topic.
Sheikh Jingir called on politicians to emulate the Bauchi Speaker in service to the Almighty God and the humanity as contained in a statement by Abdul Ahmad Burra, Spokesperson to the Speaker, Bauchi State House of Assembly.
