As part of efforts in waging war against divorce and broken marriages in Christian homes, the Couples Network International (CNI) says it will commence Diploma programme for young couples and eligible singles starting from February 2024.
President of the Network, Rev. Dr. Okafor T. Emefesi gave this hint in Bauchi during its end of the year get together and love feast.
Rev. Dr. Okafor said the training hope to produce marriage mentors and ministers that will add their efforts in the fight against divorce and broken marriages which is still recording an increase today.
According to him, it is better and cheaper to prevent divorce than to cure broken marriages which have so many negative implications in the society.
He said, the training will be pegged on the theme: ‘Marriage Without Tears’ and will run on a part-time basis within the month of February to allow as much young and intending couples as possible to participate.
He also promised that the programme will be free of charge apart from the course booklet that is based on the National Open University of Nigeria study booklet on Marraige Counseling Education which everyone is meant to possess.
The Network President gave the breakdown of the course syllabus which will run every Sunday for four weeks from 3 to 6pm at Rafin Zurfi office Bauchi to include: “Premarital Counseling course ‘Before you say I do’; choice of marriage partners without tears, courtship without tears, wedding without tears.”
“Marraige making and marriage keeping, the road map to marital succes, family management principles and strategies, family health and longevity studies as well as management of marriage and family conflicts”, he explained.
Rev. Dr. Okafor argued that unlike other fields, marriage is a life long institution that people enter with little or nor formal training which partly leads to the myraid challenges obtained therein, adding that trianings as such will begin to change the narrative in the positive.
Highlight of the love feast was the sharing of testimonies by some couples on how the network has helped them built a better home.
