The President General, Community leaders Association (CLA), Bauchi, Chief Mattew Osochukwu has said that the problem currently being faced due to the new naira policy is bearable and should be considered as a sacrifice to attain free and fair election.
The (CLA) under the aegies of non indigens residents in Bauchi made this known while speaking to our correspondent on the controversies trailing the CBN policy.
According to him, The gesture of some APC governors that approached the Supreme Court to rule against Federal Government and CBN’s February 10 deadline for the old naira notes to cease as legal tender has been described as one marred with ulterior motive.
He argued that the Governors did not act in the public’s interest just as they remained silent during the eight months old strike of ASUU in 2022 without approaching the Supreme Court to intervene.
He added that their aim is to stockpile the old notes and use it to rig the election by buying peoples conscience, hence the need for the policy and February 10 deadline to stand.
Recall, that the Attorney General of the Federation has called on the Supreme Court to dismiss the suit challenging the February 10, deadline which had further heated the polity.
