Bauchi community benefits from Rotary medical outreach

Residents of Birshin Fulani, a suburbs of Bauchi metropolis along Dass road on Saturday, benefited from a medical outreach organized by Rotary Club of Bauchi Central.
The outreach was part of the Club’s humanitarian services to the society as explained by the President, Rotary Club of Bauchi Central Chukwunnoso Nwobi who said that the outreach provides interventions in Malaria testing and treatment, Antenatal care, Routine immunization, COViD-19 Vaccination, deworming and eye screening.


” It is the club’s way of giving back to communities especially indigent communities. This outreach is the first among series to be conducted by Rotary club of Bauchi Central”, he added.
An impressed President said that, ” Am impressed with the turn out of the people,it shows many are in need of medical care but lack funds to access treatment. They came out both young and old with various degrees of illnesses”.
Ward head of Birshi, Isa Ciroma appreciated Rotary Club for coming to their aid saying, ” People around here find it difficult to access out of pocket treatment as most of them a farmers who are struggling from hand to mouth. Coming here to get free medical attention is a big relief to them” .
Isa Ciroma also said that community leaders have been sent to homes to mobilize the people to come out and receive treatment especially measles vaccine for children and deworming.
Mohammed Ahmed who received treatment for an eye ailment said he was happy to be attended to free of charge.
To Halima Usman, “I have been battling with eye problem for some time now and couldn’t go to hospital due to lack of funds. Today am a happy woman I can see clearly with the lens they gave me.”
