Bauchi governor assures of better life in state

Governor Bala Mohammad of Bauchi State has reiterated commitment towards ensuring better life to the people of the state.
The Governor gave the assurance at the launching of Community Engagement in Budget progress for sustainable Growth and Development held at the Bauchi Central Mosque.
Governor Bala who was represented by the Permanent Secretary Deputy Governor’s Office, Alhaji Danlami Garba Gamawa, commended the organization for the initiative as it will go along way in ensuring awareness to all members thereby contributes in the growth and development of Community as budgeted.
He said the present administration in the state is very much aware of the security challenges in the state and is working round the clock with all security agencies to over come the situation in the state.
He confirmed that the State government will soon engage in construction of dams to encourage and boost dry season farming and employment for thousands of people for economic growth of the state thereby reducing criminal activities by Youth caused by unemployment.
The guest speaker at the occasion, Professor Abdullahi Usman of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Uinversity (ATBU), Bauchi, expressed concern over the emergence of ‘yan sarasuka’ in the state causing serious security treat to the people in the state.
He noted that the present security problems in the state only protect government officials while the common people at homes and streets are helpless.
Professor Usman, therefore, called for serious government intervention by finding ways out for the teaming unemployed Youth forced to be criminals and nuisance.
The Emir of Bauchi, Dr Rilwanu Suleiman Adamu, represented by Alhaji Aminu Yakubu, Dankaden Bauchi, while appreciating the present of the state government in the programme commended the organization and of his determination to ensure the success of the exercise here in Bauchi and beyond.
Speaking earlier, the President of the CJDA, Hajiya (Dr) Halima Baba Ahmad, expressed satisfaction with response by the dignitaries and large turn out by the targeted people concerned.
Hajiya Hajara said the programme is to enlightened the community of their right to participate in budget implementation within their environment and that they have right to question any project given to contractors by government as budgeted is done according to specifications.
She said it is their responsibilities to round and ensure that proper things are done to the community based on priority and they have right to report to EFCC, ICPC or any relevant agency responsible for ensuring that that the right thing is done for the progress, sustainable Growth and development of the community to enjoy the dividends of democracy.
The President said the organization have experts in all fields that supervise all budgeted contracts and will rise objections where necessary and report to relevant authorities to intervene and assure compliance.
