Bauchi Governor, Bala distributes empowerment items worth N150m in Misau, Dambam LGs

Over 1000 women and youths in Misau and Dambam LGAs of Bauchi State have been empowered by the Bauchi state Government with different items worth over N150m.
The items distributed by the State Governor, Sen Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir at ceremonies held in Dambam and Misau respectively included cars, motorcycles, sewing machines, grinding machine, goats and cash among other items worth N75 million under the Kaura Economic Empowerment Programme (KEEP).
Bala Mohammed while speaking at the distribution in Misau Township stadium on Thursday,, stated that it was the first time any administration was carrying out such empowerment scheme.
He also said that his administration by the gesture targeted to be carried out in all the 20 local government areas of the state, was a demonstration of visible empowerment of women and youths across the state.
The Governor also said that the All Progressives Congress (APC) so called social investment on Nigerians has failed woefully.

According to him, “The APC so called empowerment has collapsed. Nobody is getting anything and after spending over one trillion the money is going into people’s pocket other than the beneficiaries,” ..He promised that his administration would continue to carry out policies and programmes that will benefit the common man in the state across all sections including those did not vote the PDP.
The governor appreciated the people of Misau and Dambam LGAs for the support given to his administration and promised to complete the road projects and others dear to them including the Zardawa Hardawa Akuyam road
Chairman of Misau Local Government Area, Abubakar Ahmed said the gesture is first of it’s kind in 46 years adding that it was a campaign promise fulfilled by Governor Mohammed
While assuring that the people of Misau would continue to support the administration, Ahmed used the occasion to thank the governor for fulfilling another campaign promise by constructing the Sade-Akuyam road.
Commissioner for Co-operative , Small and Medium Scale Enterprise, Hajia Saadatu Bello Kirfi, disclosed that the KEEP has so far been carried out in 10 local government areas of the state.
Sa’adu Kiirfi said that KEEP is aimed at reducing poverty in the state and urged the beneficiaries to.make good use of the opportunity to lift themselves and dependants.
Also speaking, wife of the governor Hajia Aisha Lami Mohammed, advised the beneficiaries not to look down on the gesture but make good use of it as most big businesses also stated small.
