Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed has directed that the Mohammed Jibo-led ‘Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed Vanguard’ (BAMV) to henceforth be the frontline and sole group canvassing for his election as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
To this end, the Governor ordered the collapse of all support groups structures to come under BAMV’s leadership just as he commended the thousands of supporters in the several support groups across the six geopolitical zones that have been championing his candidacy for the presidency.
The Governor assured them that he would make his position about contesting the presidency known by the first quarter of 2022.
Bala Mohammed made this known when the National Executive of BAMV paid him a courtesy visit after the inauguration of the National Executive Council (NEC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) held at the International Conference Center, Abuja.
The group was also at the Governors Lodge, Abuja to welcome him back from the trip to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the 2021 lesser hajj.
While thanking BAMV for the excellent job it has been doing since 2020 when it started by pushing forward his candidacy for the presidency, the Governor directed all support groups to collapse their structures and apply to BAMV to be registered as part of his campaign team when it goes full blown.
He said that, “I commend Mohammed Jibo, the Director General of BAMV and his able team for the excellent and dedicated work they have been doing since 2020 regarding my ambition to be President. After watching them for over a year and seeing the progress made so far, I am hereby directing other support groups to collapse their structures and come under the leadership of BAMV,”.
The Governor Bala acknowledged the work done by other support groups and urged them to join BAMV so that “we can have a common and united front to achieve our objective.”
BAMV first started in January, 2020 as a coalition of civil society organisations which believe in Democracy, Good Governance and Accountability in Nigeria.
These civil society organisations decided to form a group to canvass for Good Governance and Accountability from political leaders at all levels of government in the country for Nigerians to benefit from the hard-earned democracy we are currently enjoying after decades of Military rule.
It began as an amalgam of Thirty-Two civil society groups at initial stage whose goal is beaming its searchlight on who deserves what and when, especially with regards to positions of authority notable that of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the group finally settled for Bala Mohammed after a rigorous debate sessions.
Interested groups are enjoined to get in touch with Mohammed Jibo on 080-724-45563 for registration details as contained in a statement by Mohammed Jibo, Director General, BAMV.
