Bauchi Governor commends Redeemed Church for donating, equipping dialysis centre in Tafawa Balewa varsity Teaching Hospital, stresses harmony among religious adherents

Commissioning of the dialysis centre in ATBUTH, Bauchi

Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed has commended the Redeemed Christian Church if God (RCCG) for renovating, equipping and donating a modern dialysis centre to Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH), Bauchi.
The centre is named ‘Enoch and Folu’ Dialysis Center and it is equipped with three brand new dialysis machines, a standby 33kva generator and water supply for uniterupted supply to the Center.
While commissioning the centre on Saturday as part of activities marking the 80th anniversary of the General Overseer RCCG worldwide, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed said the gesture has shown clearly that Nigeria is one and will continue to exist as an entity.
The Governor said that, “For a Christian from the south of Nigeria to support health care services in far north is something that must be cherished” .
Represented by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health, Ali Babayo, the Governor added that, “I salute your courage and that shows that you are following the good steps of Jesus Christ who during his stay on earth healed many sick people and raised the death”.
Bala Mohammed also called for unity among Nigerians irrespective of Religious background saying that, “It is only in a peaceful atmosphere that development can be made” .
Also speaking, the General Overseer RCCG worldwide Pastor Enoch Adeboye represented by pastor Julius Fila of RCCG Region 17 said the commissioning of the center is a sign of new beginning in Bauchi state.
According to Enoch Adeboye, “It is now time for Nigerians to see their neighbours problems as theirs” .
He expressed confidence that, “The dialysis center will restore health and hope among patients with renal failure, I know what been poor is as my growing up was full of lack”.
He also said that the ‘His Love Foundation’ will continue to provide scholarships and humanitarian services to all countries that RCCG has a presence.
Speaking earlier, the Intercontinental Overseer, Christian Social Corporate Responsibility of RCCG, Pastor Idowu Iluyomada said that the Church has so far executed 800,000 different projects in Nigeria in the past four years.
Represented by Pastor Detola Akinremi, the intercontinental overseer said the donation of the Enoch and Folu dialysis center ATBUTH is the 21st significant health project the church has embarked upon.
Idowu Iluyomada added that in all 37 dialysis machines have been donated to hospitals across Nigeria that include Wise District hospital Abuja, UCH Ibadan, Healing Star Dialysis Center Lagos amongst others.
According to him, “We have also provided equipments to the Intensive Care Units at Plateau state specialist Hospital, Lagos state University Teaching Hospital, Redeemer and Ondo State School of medical sciences” .
“Other areas include a Cardiac Diagnostic center at Ondo, Referral hospital at the kirikiri maximum Correctional center to mention a few”, he also said.
Appreciating RCCG for the gesture, Chief Medical Director (CMD), ATBUTH, Dr Yusuf Jibrin said that it has become imperative for alternative funding of health care services in Nigeria as government alone cannot do it.
Yusuf Jibrin added that, “Alternative funding will go along way in assisting indigent patients, support through provision of structures and equipments”.
The ATBUTH CMD however noted that with more dialysis machines in the hospital, patients will no longer have to wait to receive treatment.
In his vote of thanks, Chairman, League of Friends ATBUTH, District Head of Bauchi, Nuru Adamu Jumba said that he sees the gesture as a bridging the gap between Muslims and Christians in the country.
Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria CAN Dr Abraham Damina who spoke through Nathaniel and Abdulkadir Abdullahi of JIBWIS called for unity among Nigerians.
