Bauchi Governor gets vote of confidence from Organized Labour

The leadership of organized labor in Bauchi state has passed a vote of confidence on Governor Bala over his tireless efforts towards the advancement of civil service in the state, in terms of upgrading and training.

The chairmen of the Trade Union Congress (TUC) and the State Joint Public Service Negotiating Council (JPSNC) Comrade Moh’d Sabi’u Barau and Comrade Dauda Shu’aibu made this known at an interactive session with the governor in Bauchi. 

They applauded the governor over his administration’s prompt payment of salaries and pensions, total renovation of the state secretariat, providing opportunities for training of workers as well as the implementation of promotions and the Consequential Adjustment of the N30,000:00 National Minimum Wage for officers on GL.07 and above in the state public service.

The Labour leaders to this end endorsed Governor Bala Mohammed’s reelection bid with a pledge to reciprocate the gesture of the administration’s sports performance and service by supporting him to succeed in the forthcoming governorship election in the State. 

“Your Excellency, we are here to say thank you to you for what you have achieved in the Civil Service of Bauchi, you have done a lot in the system and as such we must appreciate you and so encourage you to do more in the service. 

“We don’t have many issues with your administration, but we want you to do more for the workers of Bauchi state, and on behalf of the leadership of all the trade unions we are declaring our support to His Excellency’s reelection bid”.

The chairman, however, said that Governor Bala Mohammed does not relent in supporting workers to progress and in particular finding a lasting solution to all the challenges associated with the withholding of salaries and other entitlements to enable beneficiaries perform their duties effectively and diligently for the overall development of the state. 

Responding, Governor Bala Mohammed who expressed gratitude to the organized labor further endorsement of his re-election bid, and promised to redouble efforts in the service if reflect to ensure efficient and effective service delivery to the people of the state.

The governor said the prompt payment of salaries and pensions as well as the implementation of the consequential adjustment of the N30,000:00 National Minimum Wage in all cadres of the service are in line with his present administration’s commitment towards motivating and improving the standard of living of the state and local governments civil servants for greater productivity and a result oriented service.

“Today your endorsement of my re-election bid is a great honor to me, this is to show me that you have appreciated the little that I did in the Civil Service, white to me is not enough. I assure you in my second term, Insha Allah, the service will be better than its current situation. 

“I meant well for Bauchi State, I urge you to vote for me again and continue to give me maximum cooperation and support to improve the quality of the services of our workers and indeed the entire people of Bauchi State,the governor added
