Bauchi Governor issues red card to Wikki Tourists FC Chairman, Balarabe Douglas, management committee

The Chairman of Bauchi State-owned Wikki Tourists FC Management Committee, Alhaji Balarabe Yusuf Douglas has been relieved of his appointment forthwith. 

The development is coming at the beginning of a new football season in the country during which the Club will play in the lower division having been relegated at the end of the abridged football league season. 

The removal was contained in a letter Dated 8th August, 2023 titled ‘Re-disengagement of Political Office Holders’ addressed to the former Chairman. 

The letter reads “I am directed to refer to the Government’s pronouncement of Thursday, 25th May, 2023 on the disengagement of Political Office Holders in the State.”

It further contained that, “And to inform you that the disengagement order also affected your office as Chairman, Wikki Tourists Football Club and other members of the Management Team of the Club, hence, you ceased to be the Management team of the Club.” 

The letter which was Copied  to the Hon. Commissioner, Ministry of Youth and Sports further contained that, “Consequently, I am further directed to request you to hand-over the affairs ofWikki Tourists Football Club to the Ministry of Youth and Sports with immediate effect, pending the reconstitution of the Management of the Club.” 

“This letter is copied to the Ministry of Youth and Sports for information, record and appropriate action, please,” as signed by Danjuma Garba for Secretary to the State Government.
