Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed has been commended for changing the development narrative of the state.

The Governor was also commended for evenly distributing developmental projects across the state in an unprecedented manner, a clear departure from the past.

The commendation was made by the Senator representing Bauchi Central Senatorial District, Senator Abdul Ahmad Ningi while speaking to journalists shortly after the Governor flag-off the 11km dual carriageway in Ningi on Sunday.

Ningi said that what the Governor is doing since his inauguration in 2019 is a demonstration of commitment to equal opportunities to all section of the state without discrimination.

He added that though Bauchi South is the capital of the state, the Governor has ensured that he spread the projects across the state especially opening up the hinterlands in order to take governance closer to the people.

According to him, “What we are witnessing is a clear departure from the past. Projects are going round all over the state, people are now enjoying what democracy is all about. The projects are for all people of the state irrespective of ethno-religious and political differences.”

The Senator opined that with good roads across the state,”more development will come, farmers will be able to transport their harvest to the markets which will in turn boost economic growth and development.”

Ningi stressed that with the way things are going, Bauchi State will confidently rub shoulders with its contemporaries in terms of infrastructural development having been left far behind before now.

He then on behalf of the people of Ningi LGA and Bauchi Central senetorial District by extension, thanked the Governor for the road project saying, other LGAs in the zone will soon take their turns.

Meanwhile, the constituents of Bauchi Central Senatorial District have expressed confidence in the representation of the Senator representing them at the Senate under the platform of the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Ningi.

The constituents under a group known as ‘Senator Abdul Ningi Ambassadors’ said that the election of Abdul Ahmad Ningi in the last general election was the right thing to have happened to them considering his competence and political acumen.

The group therefore expressed confidence that at the end of the 4 years, the District would have been more developed than it was before the 2023 General elections through his effective representation.

Leader of the group, Nazeef Abdullahi Rio made the assertion when he led other members to reiterate their support and love for the leadership qualities of Senator Ningi since he was elected as the Senator.

The group also used the medium to distribute palliatives items to some of its members to cushion the harsh effects of the removal of fuel subsidy as well as give them the opportunity of being self reliant.

Nazeef Abdullahi Rio enjoined Constituents of the zone to continue to demonstrate their support and loyalty to the Senator as he struggles to give effective and efficient Representation to them while he served as the Senator.

He stressed that the recent Court of Appeal judgment Affirming his electoral victory is a testament of his acceptability and popularity among the people calling on the opposition to join him in delivering dividends of Democracy to the zone.

Also speaking, Zonal Coordinator of the group, Kamilu Barau said that Senator Abdul Ahmad Ningi has commenced doing things that are commendable through the various motions he has presented before the plenary.

According to him, most of the motions and bills are geared towards the development of not only Bauchi Central Senatorial District but the entire state.

According to him, “It is a worthy thing the manner in which Abdul Ningi is moving with the activities of the zone with political expertise and experience having been there before now.”

“In addition, we appreciate him for providing some of us with support to be self reliant and employers of labour. We have received palliative items from him which will be of great assistance to us,” he added.

Barau assured that in the next few weeks, they will intensify consultations across the LGAs that make up the Senatorial District in order to distribute the palliative items to the beneficiaries.

Speaking variously, Hon Alhaji Mas’ud Hassan and Gazali Bala Dandara appealed to the people of the area to continue to support the Senator and pray for him to succeed in the assignment ahead of him.
