Bauchi Governor, Mohammed hails women lawyers for providing legal services to vulnerable groups

Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has applauded members of the Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) for providing legal services to the vulnerable members of the society.
The Governor made the commendation when he paid an unscheduled visit to the inauguration of the State Branch of FIDA held at the Banquet Hall, Government House Bauchi.

According to a statement by the Senior Special Assistant on Media to the Governor, Muktar Gidado, the Governor, who noted with satisfaction, the commitment of forum in championing the course of vulnerable groups, recalled that it has always conducted its responsibilities without consideration to religion or tribal differences.
He described the formation of FIDA in the state as a welcomed development and pledged his administration’s support for the success of their assigned responsibilities.
“I came here to make a point and as you can see, I came by surprise, but it is just to show you that I am very proud of my wife, the First Lady of Bauchi State, because she had done so much to add value to my tenure, my inter-relationship and that of the Government.
“On behalf of the Government and people of Bauchi State, we wish to express our unalloyed respect and association with FIDA Nigeria, especially the Bauchi branch.
“FIDA is assisting Government in many ways, today Nigeria is passing a stage in politics and in democracy, the Bar has really championed the course of the common man.”
The governor, however noted that, the Federation of the Women Lawyers is one of the veritable tool that provides the required legal services to common people particularly the womenfolk.
“Let me therefore assure FIDA that as Government, we are always ready to give the necessary support for you to succeed.”
The inauguration and swearing in ceremony of the new officials of the Bauchi State branch of FIDA was led by the state First Lady, Her Excellency, Hajiya Aisha Bala Mohammed.
