Bauchi Governor Mohammed presents over N878b 2026 ‘Budget of Hope and Consultation’

Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, has presented 2026 Appropriation Bill to the House of Assembly at the International Conference Centre, Bauchi.

The budget is tagged the “Budget of Hope and Consultation.”

“The proposal reflects the administration’s commitment to inclusive governance, long-term development planning, and strategic investment in key economic sectors”.

The event was attended by lawmakers, cabinet members, traditional rulers, civil society groups, and development partners.

Governor Mohammed while presenting the budget, explained that the 2026 budget is designed to consolidate ongoing reforms responding to emerging economic realities at both state and national levels.

The Governor highlighted critical allocations focusing on education, healthcare, agriculture, rural roads, water supply, and youth empowerment sectors, which he described as essential to transforming livelihoods across the state.

He reaffirmed his administration’s determination to complete ongoing projects and initiate new ones that will drive productivity, expand job opportunities, and strengthen local economies.

Stressing the importance of prudent resource management and transparency in public expenditure.

The speaker Bauchi State House of Assembly, Abubakar Y. Sulaiman commended the governor for his clear presentation of people’s orientation budget and pledged support for a timely and thorough legislative review of the budget.

Rt. Honourable Sulaiman expressed confidence that the 2026 “Budget of Hope and Consultation” would accelerate development and improve service delivery across Bauchi State.

He said the presentation marks another step in the administration’s effort to build a more prosperous, inclusive, and forward-looking Bauchi State to the expectations of the founding fathers of Bauchi State.
