Bauchi Governor, Mohammed wants resolution of Bauchi, Gombe boundary dispute

Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed has reiterated his resolved to support the National Boundry Commission to address the boundary dispute between Bauchi and Gombe states.
The governor was speaking when the Acting Director General, National Boundary Commission, Surveyor Adamu Adaji paid him a courtesy visit in the Government House.
Mohammed who stressed the need for cordial relationships between the two states as evidence in inter marriages and other common cultural ties remain eminent.
He noted that interstate boundary is a necessity for administration and not barriers and urged the border communities imbibe the spirit of brotherliness and resolve all differences amicably.
The governor also pointed out that there exist a cordial relationship between the people of the two States who have co-existed for a long time together expressing optimism in the effort of the federal government and the two states to resolving the current challenges on boundary.
Mohammed who commended President Muhammadu Buhari for granting his request to address the boundary issue, pledged to support the commission to finding lasting solutions to boundary disputes across the state.
Earlier in his remark, the Acting Director General of the Commission, Surveyor Adaji said that the organization were in Bauchi base on the directives of the President on the request of the governor to locate and demarcate boundary between the two states which has been generating tension.
He assured that the commission in collaboration with the states boundary committee will examine and identify the root cause of the dispute to find solutions.
He appealed to the two states to support their quest during the exercise.
