The need for harmonious living and peaceful co-existence among adherents of the two major religions in the country have been stressed if the country is to overcome the present problems militating against development.
The assertion was made by the Bauchi state Governor, Sen Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir while speaking at the funeral service of late Rev Emmanuel Ogbeba, General Supretendant of the Gospel Life Church held on Thursday in Bauchi.
Represented by the SSA Christian Religious Affairs, Rev Zakka Magaji, the Governor said that when there is religious tolerance, people will be peaceful while government will have the space to focus on issues of development and growth.

According to the Governor “when someone achieved what late Emmanuel Ogbeba achieved in life, he is no longer a father to his family and church alone, but, father is all in the state”.
Speaking in the same vein, Emir of Bauchi, Dr Rilwanu Suleiman Adamu described the late Rev Emmanuel Ogbeba as a real soldier who lived building bridges of peace and peaceful co-existence among Nigerians resident in Bauchi.
The Emir who was represented by the Wakilin Wajen Bauchi, Rev Baba Tala (rtd) stressed that religious tolerance and understanding are the main ingredients of unity and progress calling on the people to promote the things the late Clergyman stood for.
National President of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Bishop Francis Wale Oke said that the body of Christ is one but that denomination was just a creation of convenience of Assembly and association.
Represented by the National Vice President, North – Central, Prophet Isa El-Buba, the PFN national President assured that the PFN will continue to seek for the good of Nigeria and the unity of the people particularly the Church.
Chairman, Bauchi State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Rev Abraham Damina Dimeus appealed that the immediate family of the late Rev Emmanuel Ogbeba should not be deserted by the friends and the Church stressing that, “it is now they need us, particularly the young widow”.
Earlier in his welcome remarks, Vice Chairman of Bauchi State PFN, Pastor Promise Yohanna commended the late Chairman for standing resolute in ensuring that the PFN in the state was not left behind in the activities of the national body.
