Bauchi INEC commences physical Continuous Voter Registration

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), in Bauchi State has started physical continuous voters registration.

Adamu Gujungu Yusufari, the state Commission’s Head of Department Voters Education and Publicity made this known while speaking to our correspondent in his office

According to him, this exercise is taking place at INEC offices in the 20 Local Government Areas and the State Capital office where the capture of photographs and the biometrics will be completed.

He said “the physical registration requires people presenting themselves in person to INEC registration officers where they will be issued temporary voters card”.

Yusufari added that the temporary voters card will be used to collect the permanent voters card as soon as they are ready.

Those eligible for the registration according to him includes those that turned 18 years after the last election, those that were outside the country during the process and those that may have issue with their permanent voters card during accreditation.

The INEC spokesperson further explained that “replacement of Previous Permanent Voters Card (PVC) will be made if it is damaged, lost or defaced after one has come to lodge complaint to process another”.

Recall that this exercise is the continuation of the online registration that took place between June 28th to July 23rd 2021.
