By Baba Shehu Oscu, Bauchi
The Bauchi State Commissioner of Information and Culture, Alhaji Umar Ibrahim Sade, has charged Nigerian leaders particularly the political elites and traditional rulers to see themselves as key players in the socio-economic and political development of the country.
He said they are also agents for fostering love, oneness and peaceful co-existence among the diverse people.
Sade made the charge in an exclusive interview with Apex News in his office in Bauchi.
He enjoined Nigerian leaders, past and present including the traditional rulers to contribute meaningfully towards the nation’s socio-economic and political development.
The Commissioner highlighted the various projects and programmes being evolved by the state government under the leadership of Governor Mohammed Abubakar towards alleviating poverty and efforts to raise the socio-economic and commercial status of the citizens of the state.
These included placing high premium on education, health, youth and women development, agriculture, infrastructural development, and human resource development among others.
The Commissioner expressed his full support and loyalty to the second term struggle of his boss and President Muhammadu Buhari, saying today in Bauchi State, there is nobody capable then the incumbent.
Sade therefore called on the good people of the state to elect wisely by electing for APC in all the polls in 2019 to reciprocate the good gesture of the governor and President Buhari so as to move the nation to the next level.
He also advised the youth who are the leaders of tomorrow not to allow themselves to be used by selfish, retrogressive, myopic and heartless politicians who’s intention was to continue with the destruction of the country without regard to the lower citizens.
