Bauchi LP members urged to close ranks, work together for 2027 general elections

Members of the various support groups of the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate in the 2023 General elections in Bauchi State have been urged to close ranks and work together in order to have a formidable party.

The call was made on Saturday during an Iftar (fast breaking) organized for the members particularly the Moslems who are engaged in the Holy Month of Ramadan fasting which coincided with the 40 days Christian lenting period.

Chairman of the State NLC Commission, Comrade Sani Garba stressed that unity of purpose, understanding and working together are the best things needed by the LP to act as a formidable opposition which has eluded the country.

He expressed optimism that LP has a future in the country’s political scene considering its spread across the country pointing that what is required is proper coordination.

Also speaking, State Chairman of TUC,
Muhammad Sabiu Barau represented by his Vice Chairman, Mukhtar Atta commended the dedication of LP members in the State before, during and after the 2023 General elections.

According to him, it was only LP that won election in Bauchi State even when it did not field candidate in the area stressing that, it was a demonstration and accountability of the party in the state.

Mr Michael Odumegu (Sarkin Yaki Obi) a veritable stakeholder in the Bauchi State Obidient Movement assured that all the various support groups will work together as an entity in order to achieve the set objectives of the LP.

He commended the State leadership of the party for ensuring that the structure remains intact in spite of the pressure by a few people to create divisions among them.

He urged them to focus on the next thing for the party with attention on the 2027 General elections which preparations he said has begun since the end of the 2023 General elections.

Speaking at the occasion, Chairman, Bauchi State Obi/Datti Coalition, Abel Musa explained that the Iftar was organised to felicitate with the Muslims on the occasion of the 2025 Holy Month of Ramadan fasting.

He stressed that, “As we gather today to break our fast, on behalf of Dr Tanko Yunusa, the Coordinator of the Obidient Movement Worldwide and Comrade Maigari Enna of the Directorate of Mobilisation, I am honored to address you as the Chairman of the ObiDatti Coalition, Bauchi State.”

According to him,”This momentous occasion is not just about replenishing our bodies, but also about rejuvenating our spirits and reaffirming our commitment to a better Nigeria.”

He added that, “We acknowledge the invaluable contributions of His Excellency, Peter Obi to the national discourse. His visionary leadership, integrity, and passion for a new Nigeria have inspired a movement that transcends geographical, ethnic, and religious boundaries.”

“As Obidients, we are proud to be part of this movement, driven by the conviction that a better Nigeria is possible,” he added.

Abel Musa stressed that, “Here in Bauchi, we are fully Obidient, united in our quest for positive change. We recognize that our diversity is our strength, and we are committed to working together to build a brighter future for all Nigerians.”

He stressed also that, “As we break our fast, let us remember to pray for our beloved country. Let us pray for wisdom, guidance, and protection for our leaders. Let us pray for peace, unity, and prosperity to reign in our land.”

“In the spirit of Ramadan, let us also reflect on the values of compassion, empathy, and kindness. Let us strive to be the change we wish to see in Nigeria, by being good neighbors, responsible citizens, and conscientious stewards of our resources,” he admonished.

The Obedient Coalition Chairman added that,”As we move forward, let us remain steadfast in our commitment to the Obidient movement. Let us continue to mobilize, organize, and educate ourselves and others about the urgent need for transformative change in Nigeria.”

He concluded stating that, “Together, we can achieve greatness. Together, we can build a Nigeria that works for all. Together, we can make our dreams a reality.”
