Bauchi Police Command bursts interstate armed robbery syndicate, arrests other criminal suspects

Bauchi State Police Command has busted an interstate armed robbery, car snatching syndicate as well as recovered fire arms.
The Command in a press release by the PPRO, SP Ahmed Wakili stated that in line with its commitment in cracking down criminals, the Command made adequate use of intelligence gathering towards continuous maintenance of law and order which has continued to yield positively.
According to the PPRO, reliable intelligence indicated that suspected criminal syndicate notorious for interstate armed robbery and car snatching terrorizing the FCT, Bauchi, Kano and Kaduna states among others was were arrested.

The suspects arrested in a hotel rooms in Bauchi included: Ado Musa, 44 years of Hema village, Biu, Borno State (Ring Leader); Mohammed Abdul-Aziz Sani, 28 years of No. 4, Faith Close, Mando, Kaduna. (a dismissed Cadet officer of 65 Regular Course, Nigeria Defense Academy (NDA) who joined the Nigerian Navy in 2017 and dismissed in November 2021 as well as Mustapha Garba Yaro 28 years of Tanudu, Kofar Gadon Kaya, Kano. (a dismissed cadet officer of 65 Regular Course, NDA, Kaduna).
Findings revealed that on same day of their arrest at about 0830hrs they had conspired among themselves to rob some innocent citizens within the Bauchi metropolis.
Exhibits recovered from them included; One service pistol, 7 loaded live ammunition, One Jack Knife, One Army T-shirt and a first aid box.
On interrogation, the suspects confessed to the crime and revealed to have networks spread across various states while investigation is ongoing after which the suspects will be charged to court at the conclusion of investigation.
Also, based on reliable intelligence that there was a suspected syndicates dealing in illicit drugs, the Commissioner of Police, Umar Mamman Sanda raised a combined team of Operatives who immediately embarked on round the clock operation which resulted in the apprehension of the suspects.
Those arrested are Okwudili Chikezie, 47 years of Igbo quarters: Abigail Nyam, 25 years of Igbo quarters: Cletus Agazie, 38 years of Bayan-gari: Ebuka Obiora, 19 years of Guru: Mary Alexander, 21 years ‘of Fada man-Mada and Obiora Okonkwo, 40 years of Yelwa, in Bayan Gari area where illicit drugs were suspected to be sold.
During the raid, Search Warrants were executed in their various shops, and the following illicit drugs were found in the shops as exhibits; 136 bottles of various expectorants, 501 tablets/capsules of tramadol; 338 tablets of Rohypnol; 255 tablets of Diazepam; 320 tablets of Exol, and 238 tablets of Valium D5.
On interrogation, the suspects confessed to the commission of the offence, investigation is ongoing after which they will be charged to court at the conclusion of investigation accordingly.
Also, On the 24/04/2022 at about 1730hrs, Operatives of the Command acted on credible information and arrested one Ukasha Abdulsalam aged 24 years of Unguwar Doya, Zaranda village of Toro LGA, Bauchi State, having impersonated as a Senior Officer in Nigerian Air Force to defraud innocent citizens in Bauchi State.
The PPRO disclosed that sometimes in the year 2020, the suspect defrauded a prominent personality in Dass L.G.A under the guise of given appointment/slot to his children and collected money from them.
Also, in Ganjuwa LGA, the suspect defrauded one Hussaini Kafi of Kafin-Madaki of the sum of N100,000 in the name of given him appointment in the Nigerian Air Force, the suspect had earlier this month lured one Lucy Ezekiel of GRA, Bauchi defrauded her of the sum of N280.000 for the appointment/slot in the Nigerian Air Force.
On interrogation, the suspect confessed to the commission of the offence while the CP directed that the suspects be charged to court at the conclusion of investigation.
To this end, the Commissioner of Police, Bauchi State Command thanked relevant stakeholders for their various contributions towards the feat, he reiterated that breakdown of law and order will never be tolerated by the Command.
He said that “the task has not been an easy one, but in line with our constitutional mandate, we shall remain fierce, tireless and relentless in committing ourselves towards the safety and security of lives and property.
