Bauchi State Vigilante and Youth Empowerment Agency boosts leadership skills

Men and officers of the Bauchi State Vigilante and Youth Empowerment Agency have undergone capacity-building training in citizenship and leadership development. Led by Commander General Ambassador Dr. Umar Aliyu Shayi, the team attended the “Build the Man, Build the Community” training at Mountain School Shere Hills in Jos, Plateau State.

The training aimed to enhance professionalism, integrity, human rights, and adherence to the rule of law in combating terrorism and crime in Bauchi State. Dr. Shayi emphasized the importance of credible intelligence gathering and synergy with conventional security agencies, aligning with global best practices.

Key Objectives:

  • Leadership Development: Enhance leadership skills for effective community building
  • Intelligence Gathering: Build credible intelligence to combat terrorism and crime
  • Synergy with Security Agencies: Foster collaboration with conventional security agencies
  • Human Rights and Rule of Law: Uphold human rights and adhere to the rule of law

Dr. Shayi commended the Mountain School for its commitment to leadership and citizenship development since the 1970s. He assured the effective utilization of skills and knowledge for a sustainable future [1).

The agency was established under Section 100, Subsection 3, of the Federal Republic of Nigeria’s constitution, demonstrating Governor Bala Mohammad’s commitment to public safety and security.
