The much agitated road that will link Itas and Gadau in Itas/Gadau LGA of Bauchi State is to be constructed by the state government in order to ease the transportation hardship facing the people of the area.
The disclosure was made by the State Governor, Sen Bala Mohammed in Mashema another town in the local government area during his ongoing projects inspection tour.
The Governor who was at one of the projects side of the construction of a model primary school said that the model primary school was the third of its kind in the entire state.
The Governor promised that he will invite one of his colleagues from the southwestern part of the country most probably, Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde to perform the ground breaking ceremony of the road project.
Bala Mohammed who noted that the biggest problem militating against the development of Itas/Gadau LGA is the river Jamaare that divided Gadau from Itas the headquarters, saying however that his administration has always look for something that is cancerous with a view to providing a lasting solution.
The Governor stated that, “And this road is cancerous and we are going to build it by the grace of God. By next week we are inviting a governor from the south west to come and commission the construction of Itas – Gadau road”.
According to him, the road which is going to be the most expensive one is expected to cover 9 kilometres of swamp and about 3 major bridges with a lot of culverts.
Bala Mohammed who stated that the people of Mashema have long been neglected in the area of projects distribution in the state, pledged to construct a befitting hospital with state of the art facilities and qualified doctors for them.
“The previous governments in Bauchi have been neglecting you for many years despite your numerous contributions to the growth and development of the state, especially in the area of Agriculture”, Bala Mohammed lamented.
According to him, his administration is poised to take care and bring Justice and equity as well as service near their doors stressing that, “That is why we are doing that, we will always take you into consideration by bringing facilities and amenities to your doorsteps”.
The Governor then assured people of the area of his government’s determination to insuring that the road is constructed once the flag off ceremony was done.
