The sacred grounds of the National Mosque in the Central Business District, Abuja, witnessed a rare and heartwarming moment of unity and mutual respect as the wedding Fatiha between Engr. Abdullahi Umar and Dr. Asma’u Muhammad Babajiba brought together dignitaries from across religious and academic spheres.
In a historic show of love, peace, and national cohesion, the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star (BCS) Directorate of Evangelism, led by its chairman, Patriarch Christ Shepherd (Prof.) David Irefin, graced the ceremony.
The delegation also included Justice Osai Ahiakwo and other key figures of the BCS evangelism team.
Their presence at the Islamic wedding was not only a gesture of respect to the family but also a bold reaffirmation of BCS’s commitment to fostering interfaith harmony, love without discrimination, and national unity.
The BCS team delivered messages of goodwill to the couple, the families, and the entire nation, emphasizing the spiritual values of peace, mutual tolerance, and divine love.
Alhaji Muhammad Chubado Babajiba, the Sarkin Bai Mubi and father of the bride, warmly received the BCS delegation, acknowledging the significance of their presence.
Also in attendance were prominent personalities including Professor Isa Hayatu Chiroma (SAN), Director General of the Nigerian Law School; Professor Gbenga of the Federal University Lokoja; and several academic dons and national figures.
The event, held at a beautifully decorated venue in Abuja, was a blend of tradition, royalty, and intellect.
Cultural performances and the rich heritage of the bride and groom illuminated the celebration, creating a memorable and spiritually uplifting atmosphere.
Guests, including the BCS team, offered prayers and blessings for the new couple, asking God Almighty to grant them a joyful, prosperous, and enduring union.
The BCS directorate further extended their blessings to the nation, praying for continued peace, unity, and divine guidance for Nigeria.
This remarkable presence of the BCS at such a traditional Islamic event stood as a testament to the possibility of genuine brotherhood among faiths—where love and mutual respect triumph over division.
It was a living message that the BCS continues to spread: that all humanity is one, under one God, and that peace and love are the ultimate keys to a better world.
