The Minister for State, Mines and Steel Development, Barrister Uba Maigari has appealed to Taraba youths to be patient with the present administration as protest has never been a solution to any meaningful development.

The minister who stated this while addressing thousands of youth during stakeholders meeting in the state over the nationwide protest slated for tomorrow August 1st, said with President Bola Tinubu at the helm of affairs Nigeria will soon bounce back.

According to the minister, recent programs and policies outlined by the present administration especially in the area of social infrastructures, agriculture (food security), health and minimum wage increment among others are geared towards alleviating the suffering of Nigerian people.

Maigari who sued for calm also encourage the youth to say no to protest and express delight over the turnout of the crowd despite short notice.

He emphasized the need to keep faith alive as the current hardship was not peculiar to Nigeria alone but globally.

“We are aware that some unpatriotic Nigerians who lost election last year are capitalizing on the current climate to threaten that they will bring down the government. How can you bring down a democratically elected government? It is clear that these people do not have the interest of the nation at heart and we urged Nigerians to put them to shame by choosing peace over violence,” he said.

He noted that youth of Taraba state have shown that they are in tune with the government and have come out with one voice across ethnic, religious, party and other sectional lines to align with the government, saying no to violence protest and giving peace a chance.
