The Advocacy for Positive Behavioural Patterns Initiative (APBPI) has urged President Bola Tinubu-led administration to prioritize policies that support the holistic development of the youth.

It believes investing in the younger generation is crucial for the nation’s growth, prosperity, and stability.

This was contained in a letter of felicitation on Wednesday to President Tinubu by Executive Director/CEO of the Initiative, Christiana Adedoja Tanimola on the one year anniversary of the administration.

According to the letter, as a behavioral-based non-profit organization, APBPI is focused on promoting positive values among young Nigerians.

The Initiative noted that it envisioned a Nigeria where young people can thrive, reach their full potential, and contribute positively to society.

“We crave a country where our youth are empowered to become responsible citizens and leaders, and where Nigeria becomes a model for positive behavioral patterns globally,” it noted.

APBPI recommended some policies for the government to include to promote positive behavioral patterns among teens and youth, enhance access to quality education and skill acquisition, improve healthcare and social welfare services for young people, empower youth to become responsible citizens and leaders, address mental health and well-being support for young Nigerians and reduce crime and criminal activities among young people.

The Initiative urged President Tinubu administration to prioritize the establishment of modern libraries in all 774 local government areas in Nigeria which will provide young people with access to knowledge, information, and resources that will aid their development.

Christiana pointed out that the Initiative noticed some ministries and agencies supporting great initiatives for the youth, and encouraged them to continue and expand their efforts.
